Kristine Lee X Etsy (The Edit)

June 29, 2020

I’m beyond thrilled to be writing this post and to be introducing you to my Edit with Etsy.

For the past six months, I’ve been focused on getting settled into our new home. I’ve heard it can take up to 2 years to feel settled after a big move? I find comfort in my surroundings, so it has been a big priority. I genuinely believe that when you surround yourself with items you love, it can elevate your day, which has many positive results. I want the spaces in our home to spark creativity in my family, especially with our girls.

The pandemic has made me question many things, including the items we have in our home. I’ve started asking myself these simple questions before bringing something new into our house… How does it serve us? Is it functional? Is it beautiful or unique? What is its story or background? Focusing on quality over quantity has been key.

One of the many reasons why I love Etsy is that I can always find those unique items that make a space feel special on their site. I’ve been a fan of Etsy since I bought a custom birthday banner for Lauren’s very first birthday in 2012. The rest is history. 😉

I’m sure you can imagine how thrilled I was when Etsy asked me to be a guest editor for the Etsy Edit. I’ve never considered myself a style influencer, so to be considered one by them was a huge honour.

I have spent the last few months curating my favourite items and grouping them into four categories. These categories include many things we have in our home, like the botanical vintage prints we have in our living room, the woven wall baskets we have in our front entrance, and the beautiful velvet pillows in Lauren’s bedroom to name a few. I hope you enjoy the below lists as much as I enjoyed creating them for you!

Lauren and I spent some quality time together these past few months decorating her bedroom. The all-white walls were feeling a bit dull for her nine-year-old spark. We agreed on a colour together and found these darling velvet pillows to complete here room. It was a simple finishing touch, but helped elevate the space so much!

I love searching for and investing in one to two quality clothing items each season. These classic linen dresses, are so beautifully made, and have a lovely silhouette, that Lauren and I both got one. They’re soooo comfortable! I know we’ll be wearing them all summer long, and for many years to come.

Our kitchen is the heart of our home. We love cooking for family and friends, so I’m always on the hunt for practical but beautiful kitchen items. The ceramic berry bowl (colander on a textured linen plate) from Montreal is the most stunning piece. Having a plate underneath the berry bowl to catch all the drips is such a simple but smart idea. The mini maple cutting board is another lovely piece, that just so happens to be the perfect kid-size, and works great as a mini cheese board. These two pieces are perfect additions to our new kitchen.
