cory took lauren to her first ‘father daughter ball’ this past weekend. it was a magical evening at the fairmont empress hotel, where people in our community gathered to support a local children’s charity.
when we first found out we were expecting a daughter, this event was added to our ‘family goals list’. we’ve been counting down the days for cory to take lauren to this event ever since. we wanted her to to be old enough to fully enjoy every aspect of the evening and for her to be at an age where she’ll remember this memory when she’s older, so we thought age six would be perfect!
this event was important to us for so many reasons…
1.) having the event connected to a local children’s charity was important to us. it created important conversations in our home around sick children and the importance of helping others when you can.
2.) lauren and her dad don’t have many opportunities to spend quality one on one together. taylor or myself are normally kicking around. so this was a great opportunity for just the two of them to enjoy themselves.
3.) i hope by creating moments like this for lauren, she will look for someone similar to her dad when she’s older to marry one day. it’s silly to think about this sort of stuff when she’s so young, but i hope defining moments such as these will have a strong impact on her life.
This Is too much ? Literally made me tear up. So precious and so valuable.
